Miskonsepsi Umum dalam Evidence-Based Medicine: Tantangan dan Aplikasinya dalam Praktik Klinis

Evidence-based medicine (EBM) telah menjadi fondasi dalam praktik medis modern, terutama dengan menekankan penggunaan bukti terbaik untuk memandu pengambilan keputusan klinis. Namun dalam penerapannya, beberapa miskonsepsi muncul, khususnya dalam ketergantungan berlebihan pada randomized controlled trials (RCT) sebagai standar emas dalam hierarki bukti. Meskipun RCT menawarkan keunggulan tertentu dalam menghindari bias, terdapat banyak situasi di mana RCT tidak diperlukan atau bahkan tidak cocok. Artikel ini mengeksplorasi miskonsepsi umum dalam EBM, pentingnya mempertimbangkan “direct evidence”, dan bagaimana pendekatan EBM yang lebih fleksibel dapat lebih sesuai dengan praktik klinis nyata.
