Abstrak

Saat ini di dunia terjadi peningkatan jumlah populasi lanjut usia. Pada tahun 2020 terdapat 1,4 miliar penduduk di dunia yang berusia ≥60 tahun dan diprediksi meningkat sebanyak dua kali lipat pada tahun 2050. Penurunan fungsi kognitif dan memori merupakan salah satu konsekuensi dari proses penuaan yang dapat memengaruhi kualitas hidup seseorang. Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) merupakan kondisi patologis dan merupakan stadium preklinik serta transisi antara proses penuaan normal dengan demensia. Deteksi dan intervensi dini kondisi MCI dapat memperlambat onset dan mencegah progresivitas MCI menjadi demensia. Penulisan artikel ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran umum mengenai MCI yang meliputi faktor risiko, tanda-tanda klinis (subjektif dan objektif), perjalanan penyakit, penegakan diagnosis, serta rekomendasi tata laksana MCI berdasarkan studi dan pedoman yang ada.
