Abstrak

Fototerapi merupakan terapi radiasi sinar ultraviolet (UV) tidak terionisasi yang digunakan sebagai pengobatan pada beberapa kondisi medis. Mekanisme fototerapi adalah sebagai antiproliferatif, bersifat apoptotik, dan memiliki efek imunosupresi. Beberapa modalitas terapi yang dapat digunakan sebagai terapi alternatif pada anak antara lain NB-UVB, BB-UVB, ultraviolet A, PUVA, dan laser eksimer. Indikasi penggunaan fototerapi pada anak terutama pada penyakit seperti psoriasis, dermatitis atopik, vitiligo, pityriasis lichenoides, dan mikosis fungoides. Penggunaan fototerapi memiliki indikasi, kontraindikasi, dosis, dan efek samping yang perlu dipertimbangkan sehingga tepat dalam pemilihan jenis yang akan digunakan pada anak. Efek samping yang umum dialami adalah eritema, xerosis, sensasi terbakar, dan gatal. Beberapa kelompok pasien dengan keluhan yang refrakter disarankan menggunakan tambahan modalitas fototerapi, baik sebagai monoterapi atau kombinasi dengan terapi topikal maupun sistemik.
