Pendekatan Diagnosis dan Tata Laksana Alopesia Androgenetik

Alopesia androgenetik (AAG) adalah jenis kerontokan rambut yang paling umum terjadi, baik pada pria maupun wanita. AAG digambarkan sebagai pengurangan yang progresif pada ukuran panjang, diameter, serta pigmentasi rambut. Tanda-tanda awal AAG dapat dimulai sejak masa remaja, di mana riwayat keluarga merupakan faktor predisposisi yang tersering. AAG dapat mengganggu penampilan fisik yang merupakan faktor penting dalam citra diri manusia. Penderita AAG dapat mengalami penurunan kualitas hidup yang signifikan sehingga akan terdorong untuk mencari perawatan rambut yang efektif untuk mencegah kerontokan lebih lanjut dan merangsang pertumbuhan rambut kembali secara optimal. Sayangnya, obat yang sudah disetujui untuk pengobatan AAG masih terbatas, memiliki risiko efek samping, dan tidak selalu memberikan hasil yang memuaskan. Efikasi yang terbatas dari regimen terapi, toleransi yang buruk, dan kurangnya informasi tentang durasi pengobatan serta kemungkinan efek samping dapat memengaruhi kepatuhan terhadap pengobatan, menimbulkan kekecewaan karena ekspektasi yang tidak terpenuhi, serta penghentian obat secara dini. Diperlukan penanganan yang komprehensif disertai edukasi yang baik untuk mendapatkan hasil yang optimal pada kasus AAG.
