Abstrak

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) adalah jenis coronavirus penyebab terjadinya penyakit yang dikenal dengan coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19). Kemunculan penyakit ini pada awalnya dilaporkan dari kota Wuhan, Tiongkok, diduga akibat adanya konsumsi hewan liar yang dicurigai sebagai reservoir dari virus SARS-CoV-2. Transmisi antarmanusia terjadi melalui droplet yang terhirup atau yang menempel di permukaan, kemudian masuk ke tubuh manusia melalui selaput mukosa di hidung, mulut, atau mata. Tingkat keparahan Covid-19 bervariasi antarindividu, mulai dari gejala ringan, berat, kritis, maupun tanpa gejala. Manifestasi klinis dari penyakit ini tidak spesifik dan beragam jenisnya. Gejala umum yang dialami penderita seringkali berupa demam, batuk, mudah lelah, sesak napas, gejala pernapasan, gangguan pencernaan, gangguan pengecap/penghidu, bahkan munculnya manifestasi pada kulit. Manifestasi klinis pada kulit juga bervariasi, dan dapat muncul pada waktu yang berbeda tanpa diikuti dengan gejala lainnya. Pemeriksaan laboratorium, radiologis, dan pemeriksaan spesifik untuk SARS-CoV-2 perlu dilakukan untuk mengonfirmasi diagnosis Covid-19.
